Frequently Asked Questions

What does Plantamime mean?

Plantamime is a combination of Plant and Mime. Plant is self explanatory and Mime is someone who is able to convey an action or a feeling without words. Although plants and humans do not share a common language by our standards, we are capable of communication and interaction by other means.

Where do you get your designs from? Do you make your own items?

My designs are original! I begin by sketching a concept in Procreate on my iPad and then transfer it to Illustrator and Photoshop to add the finishing touches. All designs are intellectual property of Olga Solomon and Plantamime and cannot be reproduced for any reason without explicit written consent, but if you have a collaboration idea, I would love to hear all about it. Please message me on my Contact page. As far as making the items, unfortunately that is the one skill I do not possess. I currently outsource the production and shipping of my items to other companies.

Can I order a customized plant spirit and how much would it cost?

Yes, I am open to making customized pieces. Please reach out to me with your photo and the type of plant you would like to incorporate so I can make a quick free sketch for you. If you like the direction, we can then discuss timeline and pricing.

What’s the best way to hang your metal wall decor?

You can use a nail—either one in the center or two in the corners, but if you’re not a fan of drilling holes in your walls, another great option is small magnetic discs with adhesive backing. Just search for Small Magnets for Crafts with Adhesive Backing on Amazon. I got 50 magnets for just under $7. Instructions: Remove the adhesive material and stick one disc to the wall. Then take another disc and place it on the metal wall art. The two discs should easily snap together and keep your art securely in place. Please note, magnets are great for indoor use, but if mounting outside, a nail or two is probably best.

Can I hang the metal wall decor outside?

Yes, the steel is powder coated and weather resistant. You can hang it inside or outside.

How is your metal wall art made?

The wall decor is laser cut from an 18-guage steel. It's around 1.2mm thick which is perfect for handling delicate designs because it's not too bulky or too flimsy. It also keeps the art fairly light weight, even at the largest 36 inch size. Once it’s cut, it then gets powder coated in your choice of 5 weather-proof colors: Black, White, Red, Silver, and Copper (my fave).

What if I find a defect on the metal art?

Very rarely there may be a mishap during production or shipping. If you notice a slight bend, it’s usually easy to fix by bending it back out. If you notice any other issue or are not fully satisfied, please take a picture of the issue and reach out to me within 14 days of receiving your order so that I can communicate the problem to the production company and get you a replacement or a refund.

How long does it take to process and ship an order?

Production for the metal decor takes anywhere from 4 to 7 business days. However, during peak seasonal months, like the winter holidays, it may take up to 12 days. Please allow 3-14 days for your order to get to you, although most packages arrive via USPS within 5 days.

What if my order is lost in the mail or marked as delivered, but it's not?

Please reach out to me so I can help you track it down or figure out an alternative solution.

Do you accept returns?

Your satisfaction and feedback are very important to me, so if you’re not happy with your purchase, please reach out to me within 14 days so I can process a return or exchange.
